Competing in Tukwila this week?
We are just minutes away in Renton. Come in before you play to feel loose, or right after to help tired legs bounce back for tomorrow. Same day appointments are often available, so give us a call.
What is targeted cryotherapy?
Instead of stepping into a whole body chamber, we apply a precise, sub zero cold directly to the area that needs it. Your quads after a tournament. A tight shoulder. A sore knee. You stay fully clothed, it is non invasive, and there is no downtime, so you can walk out and get on with your day.
The cold itself only lasts a few minutes per area. Most people describe it as an intense, cool breeze that settles quickly, and honestly, most athletes tell me it feels great.
Why athletes come in?
People come to us for simple, everyday reasons that come with being active:

Temporary muscle soreness after training or competition

Muscle tightness that will not let go

General joint discomfort

Recovery between games on a tournament weekend

Overworked muscles from back to back sessions

The everyday aches that come with an active lifestyle
Targeted cryotherapy may help support your recovery and comfort. It is a wellness service, not a medical treatment, and we will always be straight with you about that.
Who we see?
Youth athletes and their parents. High school and college athletes. Adult recreational players. Tournament competitors and the coaches running them. And active adults who simply want to feel good in their bodies. If you move, you are welcome here.
Why athletes choose Cryo Sanctuary?
- Precise and targeted. We treat the exact area that needs it, not your whole body.
- A comfortable alternative to an ice bath. No dread, no shivering, no twenty minute misery.
- Quick. The cold takes only a few minutes per area, easy to fit around practice.
- A private treatment room. Just you and your session.
- Convenient Renton location at The Landing, easy in and out.
- Same day appointments when we have them, especially handy on tournament weekends.

I recently had cryo done to my left shoulder and I'm surprised at how well it reduced the pain I had. I've had problems with my shoulder for 15 years and have become used to the pain. I recommend giving it a try if you're thinking about it.Posted on Google misslona ATrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great experience. Shelly at Cryo Sanctuary is a game changer. I came to her hoping EMS (electronic muscle stimulation) might help reduce my chronic back pain by strengthening my core. Not only did she listen carefully, but she was refreshingly honest—hopeful it could help, but never overpromising. Just three sessions in, my pain level dropped dramatically. It’s not gone (I’ve got a long-term condition), but the difference? Massive. It feels like I’ve been given my body back. Add in cryotherapy—which has been a total inflammation buster—and suddenly I can do sit-ups, get up and down more easily, and stand taller. My posture, strength, and confidence have all improved. Shelly truly cares. She’s thoughtful, kind, and genuinely invested in your progress. Her sanctuary is cozy and calm, and she tailors everything to you. Whether you’re chasing pain relief, better recovery, or a toned-up version of yourself—she’s the real deal. It’s not a budget spa. But when you’re in pain, ask yourself—what is it worth to feel better every day? Because I’d pay double to get this kind of relief again.Posted on Google Emily HopmannTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I stopped by to see Shelley a bit impromptu. We were at an event on a Sunday and she opened up her studio to give me a treatment. The location is very fun. In the future I would love to walk the area and see all the shops. Shelley did a treatment on a area where I have some scares form a surgery. I have had numbness in the area. The treatment itself feels very cold. As the skin started warming up after the treatment it got a bit itchy. I think this is great because when your nerves have loss of sensation the itchiness can be a sign of them repairing. I also have had some swelling in the area and can see a slight improvement. The area is a bit softer and slightly less pronounced. I wish I lived closer so I could get treatments more frequently. Love the results so far and it has only been a couple days. Highly recommended.Posted on Google Misa PhanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I definitely feel like I did 20000 sit-ups after and saw more definition for sure .Posted on Google Linda WaldonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Started sessions at Cryo Sanctuary January 2024. I'm excited that I'm aleady seeing results (full results are supposed to be achieved around 6 months later). Shelly, the owner, is the best. She's always giving me ponters and tips on how to maximize my new fitness journey. I'll be disappointrd when I complete all my sessions as I look forward to seeing Shelly every week.Posted on Google Michael DonaldsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Frequently Asked Questions
What is targeted cryotherapy?
It is a precise, sub zero cold applied directly to one area of the body, like a quad, calf, shoulder, or knee. It is non invasive, you stay clothed, and there is no downtime.
How long does a cryotherapy session take?
The cold itself is only a few minutes per area, and the whole visit is quick and easy to fit in around practice or a game.
Can I get cryotherapy after a game or workout?
Yes, and many athletes do exactly that. Coming in after competition is one of the most common reasons people book with us.
How often can athletes use targeted cryotherapy?
Some come once a week, others come through a tournament weekend or a heavy training block. We will talk it through and find a rhythm that fits your schedule.
What areas can be treated?
Quads, hamstrings, calves, knees, shoulders, arms, back, and more. If it is sore from being active, there is usually a way we can work on it.
